If you have ever thought of learning about fused art glass as a hobby, join us for a fun starter class! Select your choice of colors to make pretty unique suncatchers or plant stakes to keep or give for a gift! In this beginner workshop, you will learn the very basics of kiln fused glass work. Topics discussed will be safety, glass compatibility, glass colorings, types of glass, tools needed, kiln information and fusing glass retailers.
Demonstrations of how to score and break glass, layout and design suggestions. This is a hands on class! Your art pieces will be fired and annealed in a digital kiln at Palm Cottage Glass Studio and brought back to Harlem Arts Council for pick up at your convenience. Suncatchers may be displayed tabletop with a provided clear stand or I will drill holes with a diamond bit studio drill press and add a crystal chain, for easy hanging, your choice. Class cost:
Members: $40 per person, per session
Non-Members: $45 per person, per session
