Creative Writing

with Elle Shepard and Bill Morehead

Class information

"Tell me about your very first creation -seriously, tell me and how do you think I can help put the wind back in your sails...?"

Whether you're writing a poem, a short story, a novel, a play, or even a movie script - we cover everything. Here's what you'll learn in this class:

  1. Get your ideas (no matter how weird) on paper.
  2. How-to get started (again?) or running out of steam.
  3. Selecting your characters, putting flesh on their bones.
  4. The setting(s), era and atmosphere for your tale. Can you see it like a movie in your head?
  5. Imagination is sometimes very intimidating...
  6. RESEARCH is your most powerful tool!
  7. How to make a good story GREAT!
  8. And more, MUCH more...

Things to remember

  1. You have a story in you.
  2. You don't need to put it off.
  3. Writing in spurts is fine.
  4. Drink much coffee (or at least stay hydrated)
  5. Inspiration Strikes Anywhere
  6. Sharing With Friends Is Encouraged
